Billiard Table Cover
What is a good billiard/pool table to get?
I am very interested in getting started in the game of pool. I used to shoot a lot but had to stop because I no longer had the free time. Its been about 2 years since i picked up a cue but i want to get back into it. When i shot regularly, i went to my local pool hall but now i have some extra space in my place that i want to dedicate specifically to the table. the space is big so there are no restrictions to dimensions, but it is outside in an extended overhang. im looking for something of good quality, that will last (i know it will need a lot more maintenance being outside) and something adjustable in case it becomes unlevel. rain will never be a factor because of the overhang and its size, and i would be keeping it covered whenever unused to help against the dust and dirt in the wind. Does anyone have any recommendations on brand, table type, or anything at all? What are things i should look for when shopping around, and what are some dependable stores to purchase quality tables?
Well if I had to pick one table it would be a brunswick gold crown. They make models 1-5. The model doesn't really matter they all play outstanding. The next to best brands are olhaussen and diamond. All 3 of these are the ones that u see them play with on tv. The brunswick being the one at the moment. Its awesome to own one becuase u can compare how u play to the pros on the same tables they use. If u have the space I would sugest a 9ft table with a 50 x 100 playing surface. But it depends to on where u will be shooting wjen outside your home. If u are planning on joining a leauge and wanting to get better then u should look into muellers.com and het one of their valley tables. They are 7 ft bar room tables. Since most leauges play on these tables u would then get your practice and own this table. But if u are just looking to get better get a brunswick or one of the other models I mentioned. Your overall game will pick up nicley with the longer shots,tighter pockets,and truer rolls.they are costly but by going on ebay u can find them for 800 bucks and 1500 bucks. U may have to travel a little to get one already assembled. But it beats getting a new one at a price of 5000-7500. Also u say it will be outside. Even with the overhang the moisture (especially at night) will be the same thing day in day out as if it has been rained on. So I wouldn't want to spend a lot on a table that will be ruined shortly. The best suggetion if it has to go outside would be a indoor/outdoor table. They make tables especially to go outside. I'm not sure how close those 9ft tables play to the real deal but I heard they were pretty close. Google outdoor pool table or billiard table. Or indoor,outdoor pool table. That would be your best bet. Good luck
